Costa Blanca Villages - Algorfa
Algorfa Costa Blanca - One of the charming Costa Blanca villages to the south of Alicante, Algorfa is located beside the Segura River just inland from the popular coastal town of Guardamar del Segura, and close to the villages of Almoradi, Daya Nueva and Benejuzar (as can be seen on the Algorfa map on the right). Algorfa is surrounded by orange and lemon groves, which until the arrival of tourism, was its main source of income.
Algorfa Golf: Close by is the renowned La Finca golf course, which opened in 2001, there is also significant new development for those wishing to purchase a holiday home, or settle in the area.

Algorfa History: Though it may have been settled much earlier, Algorfa was founded as a municipality in 1328 when the king at the time Alfonso II granted it a privilege, at this time the village comprise just fifteen houses. Though the privilege was later withdrawn by Felipe V, it was subsequently put back in place by Carlos IV, after presentations by the Marquesses of Algorfa. Surviving over the centuries, mostly through agriculture, Algorfa experienced the tourism phenomenon towards the end of the 20th century, when property development became a major earner for the town.
Algorfa is handily placed for the airport at Alicante, just a half hours drive away, it is also close to the motorway, so great for visiting the Costa Blanca and Costa Calida.
For beach lovers the town of Guardamar del Segura is just a short drive away.
